Q. Can I change the order of servers, where records are found?
A. Yes, on the main screen click on Preferences, Scroll down and click on "Order Sources via Drag N Drop". Drag N Drop the resources into the preferred order and click you back button to go back to the main screen. Now when you click on Update or Scan a new item the data will be resolved in that order.
Q. I have a new phone(device) how do I import my data
Most new phones have the concept of an internal and external SD Card… here is how to get the backup where it’s needed.
A. This procedure should help with importing data
- Create a backup on your old device so you have a recent version
- Obtain the latest backup from your old device (mtracker1.zip) in the folder "com.mediatechllc.MediaTracker"
- Copy the backup mtracker1.zip to your medium (desktop, laptop, server, etc...)
- Open the Media Tracker App on your new device
- Perform a backup (see the help in the application)
- Find the new folder structure that was created from the backup using some Explorer type program
- Move your backup file into the new location from your original device, overwriting the small mtracker1.zip created in step 2 above and perform your import
Q. Can I update my backup from Excel
A. Yes simply perform the following procedure
- Perform a backup from your application in CSV format
- Copy the backup mtracker1.zip to your desktop
- Extract the CSV file from the zip
- Rename the .csv to .txt
- Open Excel
- Open the file from within Excel perform File > Open
- Change the file format you're looking for to All Files (*.*)
- A wizard should have opened
- Select Delimited, click Next
- Select Commas (only), click next
- Select the column(s) in the the preview pane that have leading zeroes and select Text from the Data Column Format area...
- Click Finish
- Make all your changes
- Save as CSV
- Add the file back into your mtracker1.zip
- Copy the zip file back to your device in the location you retrieved it from
- Open the application and perform an import
Q. How do I Install Barcode Scanner
A. In the Media Tracker application click on Scan, you'll be notified that you need to install the application click Yes. Click on Barcode Scanner in the Market application, then click Install, click Accept and download, now click the phones back arrow twice and click Scan again from inside the application and finally click on Done and proceed to scan your first barcode.
Q. Why do I need to install Barcode Scanner ?
A. The application relies on ZXing (Barcode Scanner) for scanning, this means that any shortcomings of that product such as the support for the HTC Tatoo are also an issue for scanning in this application.
Q. Having Barcode Scanning Issues
A. If you have the "Target" application, please install "Barcode Scanner by ZXing Team" and select it as the default for this application, "Barcode Scanner by ZXing Team" is installed by default if you click on Scan and don't have a Scanner application installed.
Q. What kind of media is currently supported?
A. Currently we support DVD, Blu-ray, VCR, AudioCD, NintendoDS, Wii, PS3, PS2, PS1, XBox360, XBox, HD DVD, Laserdisc, NintendoDS, Nintendo3DS, Sony PSP, Sony UMD, Sega, PC, Game Boy Advance, Game Cube, and offer a Digital Category.
Q. Where do backups get saved?
A. On your SD Card under com.mediatechllc.MediaTracker (Ensure you backup your SD Card and or files regularly)
Q. Can I change what is searched on ?
A. On the main window or backup window click your menu button and select preferences. Click on Search under Sort/Search and checkmark the field(s) you would like to search against.
Q. Can I sort ?
A. On the main window or backup window click your menu button and select preferences. Click on Sort By located under Sort/Search.
Q. Can I change colors?
A. On the main window or backup window click your menu button and select preferences. Click on Modify Colors.
Q. How can I change my export format to CSV or XML?
A. On the main window or the backup window click your menu button and select preferences. Click on Export Format and change to your desired format.
Q. Where can I find the applications help?
A. In the application select your Menu button and click on More, Help
Q. Why can't I find information on my Media?
A. Most likely the resources used don't have information on that specific media currently. We are adding resources all the time and will possibly have information in the future, you can use the "Update" button to see if the information has been updated.
Q. What versions of Android are supported?
A. This application has been tested with version 1.6 and should support through the latest version.
Q. Why is Internet access required?
A. After scanning and during updates the information is pulled from various sources on the Internet.
